Hi folks, I need an advice from you. Just a beginner in GPS I want to buy an Magellan eXplorist 500 LE for hill walking (my son for geocaching). What I don't know is HOW reliable this unit is.
I have read a number of reviews and the result is 50%-50% (good/wrong). How many of you does use this model and what are your experiences with it?
Is it able also to autoroute me from city A to city B ? (with appropriate map of course)

eXplorist 500 LE is fine and reliable unit
With superior file management ( like Windows ), good and stable satellite lock and small housing.
The best thing are superior Magellan 3D topo maps - unique feature on handheld GPS market.

My advice would be to buy extra Li-Ion battery for greater autonomy , and detail map of desired country of interests.
